Well - that expression special occasion dresses covers a multitude of sins, doesn't it? Cruise wear? Wedding Guest? Bridesmaid? Bride? Golden Wedding Party? Big holiday party at the office? Formal dinner honoring the male in your life? Formal dinner honoring you!! (the latter v. unlikely!) The long and the short of it (Ha! Ha! Joke!) is that you need a special dress for a special occasion and you need it now!
Let's run down a few of the most likely possibilities. First one is wedding. Since it's winter time, a holiday wedding possibly. How gorgeous that thought. I can see it now Vermont Country Inn, roaring fires in the main rooms (in your bedroom , oh my God! This is a special occasion. Better get serious!)

here's a gorgeous dress fro Neiman Marcus and the Giorgio Armani collection. It's a Metallic Python-Print Dress in silver metallic python print silk with a plunging V neckline and low back. Very sophisticated. Neiman's item # NMOF8_B0LY9 and $1,975. Oooo little pricey there but you know, an Armani after all!
OK I'll look for a couple more guest at wedding dresses. Better go to my favorite Nordstrom's. Here's a cutie for a wedding. This one is a Single Dress Silk Jacquard Babydoll Minidress with a satin bow on an Empire-waist dress, styled in metallic-hued silk jacquard and pleated at the front and back bodice. Tricky one that might not suit everyone but if it fits your style and persona, a very interesting statement. Nordstrom's item # 203014 $234. Very sweet from the back too.This one is quite pert and saucy. A Nanette Lepore 'Twilight' Shift Dress with silver sequins topped with smaller black sequins which sparkle and shimmer on an A-line shift dress. Item # 206104 priced at $465. It's my kind of length and look so maybe that's why I'm suggesting it. Take a look anyway and see what you think.
Right - how about switching to the big holiday party at the office. What should it be? A formal evening gown that the managing partner's wife would approve of or a swinging dress for dancing and ogling? OK, OK - first a formal floor length gown. Well, you asked for it, honey! Nicole Miller's Crinkle Bustier Gown. Nordstrom says it's "stunning"! Italian organza is shot through with a metallic sheen. Silhouette is long and lean and fitted through the V-neck bodice and Empire waist before flowing to a lushly textured skirt with a small back train. Woohoo! Black with metallic fibers. Very special and definitely will cause a sensation! Their item # 183002 and priced at $575. Serves him right and he'll have to fight 'em off anyway!Since I'm not cruising or resorting, I won't dress for those. Maybe next year?
